Joseph (Joe) Larimer is an associate where he practices in the firm's education and municipal Law practice groups. He represents public school districts and other municipal entities across Indiana, advising clients on a wide range of legal matters including special education due process, collective bargaining, labor and employment issues, civil rights, constitutional law, board governance, policy development, and compliance with public access laws.
Joe has experience serving as board counsel, presenting trainings for school officials on legal compliance, responding to EEOC and ICRC complaints, assisting with internal investigations, and representing school corporations in administrative hearings, including special education matters. He is passionate about helping school leaders navigate complex legal challenges so they can focus on what matters most—educating students.
Before entering private practice, Joe taught 8th grade social studies and college and career development at School City of Hammond. During law school, he was a Civitas ChildLaw Fellow at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he participated in the ChildLaw Clinic, represented students and families in special education and school discipline matters, and contributed to legislative efforts that eliminated harmful school and municipal fines. He also served as a research assistant with Loyola's Education Law and Policy Institute, was an oralist on national moot court teams, and wrote on the integration of AI in schools as a staff editor for the Loyola Consumer Law Review.
Joe earned his undergraduate degree in secondary education from Indiana University and his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, as well as the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. An Eagle Scout and dedicated advocate for strong public education, Joe believes schools are the heart of the community and works collaboratively with education leaders to help them advance their mission for all students.
